Homemade Hummus

Hummus is one of the things we always have in our fridge. We just can’t live without hummus!! It’s delicious, healthy and easy to make. We use it as a side dish or as a snack to dip bread and vegetables in it. In this post, you will find everything you need to make the perfect creamy hummus. It’s way better than the hummus you can buy in the supermarkets.

You will need 

  • 400-gram chickpeas 
  • 1 small clove of garlic

  • 1 tablespoon of tahini paste

  • 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt (optional)

These ingredients are for 3 servings. 

Preparation

Drain the chickpeas and rinse. We use canned chickpeas that you can buy in every supermarket. You can cook your own chickpeas as well but this takes a lot of time.

Put the chickpeas and the other ingredients in a blender and blend till you have a creamy mixture. We added one tablespoon of yogurt to make the mixture smoother. Season it with a little bit of salt and add some more lemon juice to taste.

Scrape the hummus in a bowl and put some parsley on top! Enjoy!!
